The Start of Lent in the Greater East Buffalo Catholic Family of Parishes: Ash Wednesday and Stations of the Cross

Celebrated by Christians around the world, Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent: a time of fasting, prayer, and repentance. The ashes remind us of our own mortality, and Lent provides us with the opportunity to reflect on our faith, to embrace a spirit of penitence, and to draw closer to God. Ash Wednesday is a day of fasting and abstinence.
