Dear Alumni of St John Kanty School,
Hope all of you had a great summer! At SJK we are ‘back to business’, that is…our fundraising events are starting up again!
For those of you who would like to stay in touch on a more regular basis, you are encouraged to stay up to date on events at SJK with one or all of the following subscriptions:
Subscribe to SJK e-news on the church website (see lower left corner of home page) and receive everything that is published, including a link to the weekly bulletin, events, and more: http://www.saintjohnkanty.com/
If you are on Facebook, there are sites for the church, the school alumni, Troop 107 and Troop 107 alumni. These are: Historic St. John Kanty Church Buffalo, https://www.facebook.com/groups/53154766371/ (alumni site) and, in case you were a scout: Boy Scout Troop 107 Buffalo NY and Boy Scout Troop 107 St. John Kantys Alumni
Now…for some news!
Don’t cook today…come on down to Kanty’s Kitchen! All are welcome, so phone a friend, and family too, and come out for a delicious meal, with no clean-up!
Our Harvest Dinner starts following 10:30 Mass! We will be serving our traditional homemade beef rollups and sides: potatoes, sweet & sour cabbage (kapusta), green beans, green salad, coffee and homemade dessert: Eat in or take out. We will be serving from 11:30-3, or sold out. Also available for purchase will be adult beverages to compliment your meal!
Our basket raffle will be loaded with great gifts for you to take a chance on winning, including many gift cards to area establishments.
Tickets can be purchased in the church vestibule in advance before/after weekend Masses: $11 presale; $12 at the door. If you are not able come to Mass, phone the rectory and tickets will be set aside for you: 893-0412 weekdays, 9-noon.
Make Time for Christ: a time of listening to God’s word, remembering what Christ has done, and re-energizing our true selves!
As Christians we are disciples of Jesus and apostles of the gospel, yet our daily lives are so full that we sometimes forget ‘who we are and whose we are’. Make Time for Christ will take place October 6-9. Fr George Knab, O.M.I. will present the Mission.
Please make plans to be with us at 6 p.m. October 6-9, and…family and friends are welcome!
Want an easy way to help out a church in the neighborhood? Good. What you need to do is get in the habit of coming to church in East Buffalo’s Historic Polonia at least once a month. Broadway Fillmore Alive put the Second Sunday idea together a few of years ago. It is a simple easy way to help support a church.
