See the bulletin for links to livestream liturgies from some of our local parishes. Easter Sunday Mass from St Joseph’s Cathedral will be televised on WIVB Channel 23 at 10:30 a.m.

A big THANK YOU to those who have continued their weekly contribution and also donated to Catholic Charities by either dropping off at the Parish office or mailing in…your weekly offering is vital to SJK’s wellbeing!

For those who have remembered your loved ones with a Mass…Masses are still celebrated daily, in private, by a priest. Please continue to  request Masses or lighting of the Sanctuary Lamp by phoning the church office weekdays between 9-noon.

Blessing of Easter Foods: It is traditional to bring food to church on Holy Saturday to ask God’s blessing. This year, health concerns makes this largely impossible. Therefore, gather your foods which will be used for the celebration of Easter, and pray:

Bless, O Lord, this creation that it may be a means of salvation to the human race, And grant that, by the invocation of Thy Holy Name, it may promote health of body, and salvation of soul in those who partake of it, and bless all who are unable to gather with us this day. Defend us from all illness, that we may again join together to thank You for your goodness and mercy, through Christ Jesus, our Risen Lord (adopted from the Book of Blessings).

The journey to the church to have your basket blessed is a nice tradition, but it is the lifting of our minds and hearts to the Lord in praise and thanksgiving which is the essential element of this tradition. Happy Easter!

Know that we will miss being together with you during these three most holy days of the year and look forward to being with you once again when our churches reopen. Until then, we must stay safe and keep others safe… Take a few minutes to listen to this song, sung many times by our choir, which seems even more appropriate as we deal with life as it is today:
