2nd Annual East Side Garden Walk on July 20 to Include Saint John Kanty’s Gardens!

Our small gardening group: Angelina, Judy and Julie, has been working in SJK’s gardens since 2014. It all began with the Mary Garden on the corner of Brownell & Broadway and has continued to include several gardens in the church yard, our ‘secret gardens’, as well as work on several areas on Swinburne Street, where old shrubs were removed and replaced with hosta.  Although the ‘East side’ is big, last year’s initial ESGW included 24 properties, and this year’s will be even bigger. Kanty’s gardens will be open on July 20 from 10-3:00 for a guided tour. In addition to individual gardens, the greenhouse in MLK Park will be available for tours from 11-2 that day. It’s the source of flowers for the Olmsted Park system, and it’s worth a visit.

Come early, bring a friend, and stay for our 4 o’clock Saturday Mass! And of course, if you can’t make it that day, you are always welcome to walk the grounds on your own to discover the quiet and peace of our gardens!!
