At a meeting on Monday, June 17 with the Trustees and Parish Council (with representatives from Saint John Kanty and Saint Adalbert) the decision to go forward with an appeal to keep our churches open was submitted to the Road to Renewal/Diocese of Buffalo by the July deadline. This decision has the support of our Pastor, Fr Cole Webster.
On Monday August 12 our representatives: Jennifer Snyder-Haas and Todd Kniazuk, will present our appeal to Fr Bryan Zielenieski and others from the Road to Renewal.
Please say a prayer for a successful appeal!
The Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is celebrated every year on August 15 and commemorates the death of Mary and her bodily assumption into Heaven, before her body could begin to decay—a foretaste of our own bodily resurrection at the end of time. Because it signifies the Blessed Virgin’s passing into eternal life, it is the most important of all Marian feasts as well as being a Holy Day of Obligation.
Bring flowers and herbs from your gardens to church to be blessed. It is believed that this gesture is a sign asking Our Blessed Mother
to bless the upcoming harvest season with a bountiful crop from the fields.
Mass at SJK will be at 8:30 a.m. August 15.
