Saturday, July 27: A Big Day at SJK!

Rather than just an ordinary day of working in the gardens, two wonderful and exciting things happened:

1. The refurbished baptismal font was returned! The work of cleaning up the baptismal font (not an easy task after being stored outside for a number of years) was completed by Wagner Monuments. Randy Wagner and his staff of Mike Spengler and Lee Robinson took great care in handling the over 800 lb baptismal font. It was brought in the door on Swinburne Street, quite an event in itself because that door has probably not been open in a while, and put in place outside the altar rail near the Sacred Heart altar. We are very grateful to Wagner Monuments for providing their services at a very reasonable cost… (click on photo to enlarge)

2. We were greeted on our arrival with an award from Buffalo in Bloom! Our hydrangeas are abundant and beautiful…and we cut some today to place near St. Ann and Mary.

We are always in need of additional hands to help in garden maintenance. Please stop by on a Wednesday or Saturday morning to lend a hand!
