SCOUT SUNDAY 2015 AT ST JOHN KANTY

Troop 107 celebrated Scout Sunday at St. John Kanty on February 15, a very cold and bitter day with subzero temperatures. Unfortunately the severe weather kept many parishioners at home. However, our scouts and family had planned a memorable celebration that all who braved the elements enjoyed. Fr. Bernard Confer, himself a scout in his younger years, celebrated the Mass, and the St. John Kanty choir sang ‘God Bless America’ and ‘The Battle Hymn of the Republic’. We learned that three young men who were in Troop 107 are currently serving their country. We are grateful for the presence of our scouts in our parish community…they will be celebrating 90 years in the parish in September, at which time Mass and Dinner will be held. Further details on this celebration will be forthcoming soon; all are invited to attend!
