The Road to Renewal: Real Presence, Real Hope, Real Mission!

As many of you may, know the Road to Renewal is a journey of faith underway in our Diocese. The Catholic Faithful along with their priests, deacons, religious, parish administrators and school leaders are embarking on a journey to reinvigorate Catholic faith, more fully optimize parish and diocesan resources, and increase the impact of our varied ministries throughout Western New York. You can read much more about the Road to Renewal at this link: https://roadtorenewal.org/

Saint John Kanty/Saint Adalbert Parish Community and the Parish Community of Saint Katharine Drexel, along with Corpus Christi, Saint Stanislaus and Saint John Gaulbert, have been designated a parish family that is planned to come together in October.

As an opportunity in starting our new family Fr Jim Monaco has agreed to step in and in addition to his responsibilities as pastor of St Katharine Drexel, become our new parish administrator. It is Fr. Jim’s hope that before becoming a part of the larger Family of Parishes, and collaborating with four other parishes, that we take the short time we have and come together to reinvigorate our own St John Kanty/St Adalbert faith community and strengthen our own identity and friendships as a parish family.

Very often people have been consistent in their Mass attendance, so much so that sometimes the people at one mass very seldom ever see or even know the parishioners at another mass. In the future our goal will be to have one weekend mass to hopefully pull us all together, enliven our passion for the gospel, strengthen our parish identity and the love we have for our church, to then invite others to walk with us as Jesus’ disciples.

Fr Bob Stolinski will continue as the ‘morning man’ on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8:30 a.m. as Fr. Jim can work out his schedule in how to best serve at two parishes. NOTE: Beginning Easter Monday, Morning Masses at St. John Kanty will be on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, and on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8:30 at St Katharine Drexel.

Please follow our weekly bulletin and website: www.saintjohnkanty.com, for updated information on our Road to Renewal family, as well as other news.
