All Year Reunion set for 11/24/2012

The former Saint John Kanty School will hold its first ever all year reunion on Saturday, November 24, 2012.

The school was open from 1894 until 1990, at which time it was merged with other church schools to become Kolbe Catholic.

Organizers of the event estimate that more than 12,000 students passed through the doors of the school. Now there is an opportunity for all to come together for this first ever all year reunion to celebrate its long history.

Alumni will gather for a special Mass at 4 o’clock the day of the reunion, followed by a dinner/reception with karaoke and dancing at Kiebzak’s Restaurant in Sloan, NY. In addition, it is anticipated that a brief tour of the school will be offered prior to Mass. Other surprises are also planned. Organizers are seeking to contact former students, teachers, nuns, priests and staff. Even if you are unable to join in the evening events, you are encouraged to attend the concelebrated Mass.

The cost of the dinner/reception will be $25, $15 for nuns & priests. Deadline for reservations is November 10.

Historic Saint John Kanty Church was established in 1892 as Buffalo’s Polish immigrant community expanded on Buffalo’s East side in the neighborhoods off Broadway toward Bailey Avenue. The church continues to serve the East side and its parish community 120 years later.
